The Mask for Your Bike – A Radiator Guard
Breathing is such an essential part of living and happens so spontaneously that we do not realize its importance till maybe we cannot breath.
Thank you Covid for that realization. I remember in 9th Std, my class teacher used to have us do breathing exercises for 5 to 10 mins every morning. It’s rather unfortunate that the naive me understood the importance now 19 years later. But just like you, even your vehicle needs to breathe. Especially the expensive , most loved, sautan to your wife or gf , i.e your beloved bike. The more air the radiator takes in the cooler it can keep the coolant. The constant supply of cool coolant the more u can ride your heart out, without your engine overheating and eventually stalling.
Let’s see how a radiator works.
The Radiator is very underrated, understated, and everything under unless you have a busted one and only then you realize its significance.
To Define a Radiator
“Radiators are heat exchangers that transfer thermal energy from one medium to the other, leading to cooling of the system.”
Well let’s simplify it. As you are riding, the vehicle is moving forward DUH!. The radiator takes in air. That meets spinning fans. Now hot coolant passes through the radiator and while this process takes place it cools the coolant. That is then passed through the engine to cool it. And this process keeps happening to keep the engine cool and running for optimum performance.
Now imagine a clogged radiator due to muck or mud or dirt or list amba hai yaar. One thing is that lack of cool air entering the radiator and clogged radiator can also prevent fans from spinning which would lead to the coolant not cooling , which would lead to the engine overheating , which would eventually lead to the engine eeeessstalling.
Now not all the bikes will go off the road to have muck or mud or ……..Let’s say you are enjoying that fast Dhoom chi bike( Busa) or enjoying your charoti gp on your fireblade like Mr 93. One small stone flicked from the front tyre and the velocity is enough to punch a nice hole in your radiator that would lead to the coolant leaking and finally bhayanak maut .
Now stand on the open highway due to a stalled engine and see people pass by. ( someone biker bro will stop to help). #bikerbrocode. So just like your mask and a good one prevent dust and bacteria or even covid virus from entering, a good radiator protects your radiator from muck, dust, mud, stones. It is also easier to clean the radiator and the fins are delicate and can’t take the direct impact of the jet spray too. Also remember. It is easier to change the guard than change the radiator because kidney 2 hi hai. It has to be used appropriately.
So bros hope you understand the importance of a radiator guard. We have some brands like R&G, Touratech, SW Motech and Evotech. Head to the Custom Elements website to see the guard for your dil ka tukda.
